Divorce and the Economy

by Administrator 13. February 2009 06:55

Divorce traditionally goes up during economic downturns.  This is for a variety of reasons.  One of the top reasons is that  money problems begin to turn into relationship problems for many couples. Also,  the added stress of work or bills can make the individuals in the relationship more negative and sometimes violent. It has been shown that cases of domestic violence increase during bad economic times.

Divorce is already an emotionally difficult time.  The bad economic environment can add financial certainty on top of this difficult situation.  Some individuals will stay in relationships because they fear the financial difficulties ahead.  This is no reason to stay in a relationship if you are unfulfilled and unhappy.

If you or someone you know is considering a divorce,  please contact the Raleigh divorce lawyers of Marshall & Taylor by phone at 919-833-1040.
