Jeffrey E. Marshall

Raleigh, North Carolina Attorney. Jeff was born and raised in Rochester, New York. After graduating from Fairport High School, Jeff attended SUNY Buffalo, after being recruited to play football by former Buffalo Bill great and current NFL coach, Jim Haslett, and received his BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. He then attended Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio where he graduated with Order of the Curia honors. Immediately following graduation Jeff moved to North Carolina where he has practiced law ever since.

Jeff’s practice is limited to Family Law and Divorce matters including child custody, child support, spousal support (postseparation support and alimony), complex equitable distribution, domestic violence, adoptions and termination of parental rights. He is a skilled negotiator and litigator and has also been certified by the Dispute Resolution Committee as a Family Financial Mediator where he is chosen by the courts and other attorneys to mediate high conflict cases.

Jeff is Board Certified by the North Carolina State Bar’s Board of Legal Specialization in Family Law. At the time of his certification he was one of only 204 lawyers state-wide to achieve this distinction. The North Carolina State Bar certifies lawyers as specialists in designated practice areas as a service to the public to identify lawyers who have demonstrated special knowledge, skill and proficiency in certain areas of law. The program gives lawyers a credible way of making their expertise known to the public and other lawyers. To be certified as a specialist in a practice area, a lawyer must have extensive experience in their area of practice, be favorably evaluated by other lawyers and judges, and pass a written examination in the specialty practice area. In his spare time Jeff enjoys exercising (CrossFit is his newest passion), fly fishing, shooting sporting clays and spending time with his wife Becky, his newborn daughter Harper and of course their two “other children”, their dogs, Georgie and Preacher.
